Descheneaux Insurance Recruiters Ltd. has policies and procedures that govern the collection, use, and disclosure of personal information.  Our strict code of ethics paired with our company policies ensure that we meet or exceed Canadian privacy laws. 

There are two federal laws that protect the personal information of Canadians. 

The two laws are the Privacy Act and the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).  Together, they are collectively known as privacy legislation, and have the following mandates:

What do we use personal information for?

Our job is to match the staffing needs of our clients with the employment needs of our candidates.   We only collect the information necessary to determine the compatibility of our candidates and clients.

What personal information do we collect?

Some of the personal information  we collect may include:

-Name, age, address, telephone number, email, SIN, marital status, employment history, salary/income, evaluations, disciplinary actions, employee files, records of dispute, licenses, educational certifications and other accreditations.

Personal information does not include the name, title, business address or telephone number of an employee of an organization.

How do we collect personal information?

We obtain consent before collecting, using, or disclosing any personal information.  If we should need to use personal information for purposes other than those that were originally consented to, we will inform the individual of the purpose, and obtain consent before we use the information.  If at any point an individual would like to withdraw consent, he or she may do so by contacting the company's Privacy Official.

In accordance with federal privacy laws, we ensure that the personal information we hold is as up-to-date and accurate as possible by conducting periodic file updates, usually via telephone or by email.

To whom is your personal information disclosed?

Our Candidates:

Select information may be disclosed to third parties when we are conducting reference checks, and confirming certifications, licenses, and diplomas.  When working with you on a job placement, personal information such as your resume and references may be disclosed to our client.  Again, your permission will be obtained prior to disclosing any information to our client(s) or to third parties. 

Our Clients:

Select information may be disclosed to third parties for the development, enhancement, or marketing of our products or services. When working with you on a job assignment, select information may be disclosed to our candidates.  Your permission will be obtained prior to disclosing any information to our candidates or to third parties.

How do we protect personal information?

Only authorized employees of Descheneaux have access to personal information.  We have physical and technological security measures aimed at preventing any unauthorized access, use, alteration, or disclosure of personal information.

If we hold personal information about you, you have the right to:
